Orange County, Texas (October 10, 2017)—The Orange County Economic Development Corporation announces the release of applications for the Harvey Small Business Disaster Recovery Grant program. Qualifying Orange County businesses will be eligible to receive a $5,000 grant to assist with recovery efforts.
Funds will be distributed to for-profit businesses throughout Orange County on a first come basis. Applications may be turned in BEGINNING OCTOBER 23, 2017 in the Orange County EDC office located at 123 S. 6th Street, Orange, and ENDING NOVEMBER 3, 2017. Applications will be accepted between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, and will be time stamped when received COMPLETE. Applications must be submitted IN PERSON. The first 40 applications will be reviewed for eligibility. Additional applications will be placed on a waiting list pending the availability of subsequent funding.
“Economic development is more than recruiting new businesses, and it is important to provide the same resources for success to the businesses that have already chosen Orange County”, said Jessica Hill, Executive Director for the Orange County EDC. “We have to ensure they are able to continue contributing to our economy.”

Applicant businesses may also pick up applications in person at their local Chamber of Commerce, local City Hall, Lamar University Small Business Development Center and the Orange County Economic Development Corporation.
